Hi Guys

Well I had bad news the other day, my mum has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. I am the first person to get angry and shout that she should of never smoked and I have always told her to give up since i was little.

Now the sad truth is that she has now got that dreaded c word.

I don’t bang on about it as much as my poor fiance who is as just heart broken by it all as me, he has a blog Final Puff which he talks about the dangers of smoking. Read his post dedicated to the news here.

The thing with Lung Cancer is you don’t need to smoke to get it, you can be just a innocent bystander; a kid whose parents smoke, someone who works in a bar (thank god for the smoking ban) or just someone with a partner or friend who smokes.

I don’t mean to play the blame game on people who smoke. I have lived with smokers all my life (My mum, dad, Brother, Aunts, Uncles and now evan cousins!) I just wish people would stop such a nasty habit.

Adverts do not work, people who smoke turn them off and don’t look at them, same with the adverts on cigarette papers.

It is such a hard habit to break, my Dad said to me a couple of days ago that he has been smoking for 40 years it’s not something he can just give up. His mother smoked all her life and gave up at 60, she sadly has really bad enthasemia so she can’t live without oxygen units throughout her house all the time.

Please anyone who reads this, Mums, Dads, kids, etc.. think. Think what pain you will bring your family if you get cancer.

I love my Mum more than anything in the whole world she is my bestest friend. She has been through so much, and most of that was with me. I had a horrid Teen life with being bullied and suffering with really bad OCD (which i still suffer with in bouts and i am sure this situation won’t help matters). She is my rock, my light, my angel, and i hate that smoking has done this to her.

So please try and give up smoking before you get the C word.

Walking home i spotted a suspiciously pink banner on an AdShel bus shelter. It contained only a search box with Oohgle written in it. So being someone that is all too easily duped by advertising i checked it out when i got home. Turns out it’s a cunning marketing ploy by a marketing company out to prove the power of advertising. It worked on me with completely no prior knowledge of what Oohgle was all about!

Why don’t you check out Oohgle for yourself (you’ll then be an oohgler?!).. there’s prizes to be won too for a well known cola brand!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when i saw a Hello Kitty soft toy dressed up as a Panda in a window of a kitchy toy shop in Norwich called Indiana’s Toy Store.

This store is not your normal toy store, this is much more fabulous! They have some crazy toys you just wouldn’t get anywhere else!

You can get Hello Kitty Lanterns, Stitch sunshine buddies and the craziest Barbie’s you could ever find.

The shop is small and can be quite cramped with so much stock but it is so worth delving in to find some great buys.

So if your looking for something kitchy and different for your Christmas presents, you will find it at Indiana’s.

It doesn’t matter how old you are there is always some cool toy you know even the biggest kid wil love!

Firstly a big YAY!.. i’ve got my Hello Kitty Founders Beta email so i can start playing the brand new Hello Kitty Online game! (HKO). For those that don’t know this is an MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) based around Hello Kitty and friends.

It’s taken an absolute age to download on our basic Virgin Media 2mb connection. I’m now waiting for the software to update which is taking even longerer.

I’ll be logging in soon to join Hello Kitty’s birthday event!! It’s going to be so cool. Just check out the venue:

I spotted the coolest Hello Kitty mobile phone in the 2009 Christmas Gifts catalogue from Argos yesterday. But looking for it today it’s NOWHERE to be seen online.

The new phone is based on this clam shell

It’s based on the Sony Ericsson Z320i. Very rarely can you not find something you’re looking for online. I’ve searched Argos’s website inside out for it but it’s just not there. I searched Sony Ericsson’s site and it’ not there either Here’s the Z320i sans Hello Kitty styling.

If you spot the Hello Kitty phone anywhere please contact me!

Just for the record this isn’t the touchscreen Hello Kitty phone here. Although would love one of those!!!

It’s also not this one either.

UPDATE – 3/11/08:

I’ve scanned in the page. This phone has Bluettoth, MP3, 1.3megapixel camera and video capture. Costs £39.99. I’ve also contacted Argos today. Will update you all if i get a response!!

UPDATE – 4/11/08:

I’ve received a response from Argos customer support. Here’s a quote from the email:

“I can confirm that we do sell this Sony Ericsson Z320I but at the moment it is out of stock.”

So there you have it straight from the horses mouth. It does exist! Looks like we’ll need to keep a vigil on the website!

Well us big girls have some issues one of them is finding fashionable clothes for our shapes. If you’re in your teens to early 20’s it can be a real pain to find high fashion clothes to fit, as Topshop has this thing that you must be under a size 16 (which is more like a size 14!!!!) to wear high fashion. Where is there for us beautiful curvy girls to buy clothes?

So I have been looking at Evans the famous big woman’s shop to see what they have in store for us in Autumn and is it worth braving into the shop and getting some items?

First look at the website and it looks inviting with a very beautiful brunette model. The clothes look trendy and what i would want to wear.

Knitwear is basic and nothing really special all mostly v neck (because we all should wear a v neck if we have boobs grrr!)

The skirts are drab and horrid old lady style what no respectable girl would wear!

Trousers are not too bad, a nice mix of styles not great but ok.

Though they do get it right with the check shirts and some stunning evening wear. They seem to really hit the nail with this amazing collection all what i would love to own.

It is a bit of a “finding a needle in a haystack” feel but there is some great buys.

My Top 3 items from Evens are:

1. Red 3/4 beaded evening tunic dress £60.00 – fab with some thick tights and some patent shoes.

2. Purple check long shirt £30 – lovely with bootleg jeans and tan boots.

3. Mary Jane patent shoes in black. £25 they look hot and you know they will be comfortable! Will look good with the Tunic Dress.

Ahhhh Tis the Season for Flu and Colds everyone and everywhere the bugs are flying!

This is the main reason for lack of the posts over last week, I have just got over the dreaded cold which stopped me working for two days at my new job.

So over the last week I have had a chance to think about ideas for weddings, we think a Fireworks night theme would be fun. So this means the date is still not set in stone and once again the wedding is still up in the air. I really do hope that 09 is the year for our marriage.

Well I will be working on my next post hopefully by the end of this week ……. about plus size fashion!!!!!!

Hi Guys,

What a week, with my Birthday and work i have had hardly any time to get on here and tell you all about my fab Birthday meal on Monday at The taste of Oz at Ringland Norfolk.

What a meal! We have been there a few times, and as it was my birthday so i got to choose where we went and i really fancied some Ozzy delights.

The place is a bit far out from Norwich and a bit scary driving in the dark but it’s worth it. The place is brightly decorated with a huge Marlin floating above the restaurant.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, There was so much to choose it took us a while, and they didn’t mind waiting for us. (I hate staff who are pushy to get your order through as fast as they can.)

So to start with I had (get ready for this!) Deep fried Squid and Crocodile with chili dipping sauce, this was amazing and spicy. The crocodile was so wonderful, tender and succulent just like chicken!

The Fiancé had field mushrooms filled with garlic and crème fresh – i of course had a try and they were beautiful with the garlic.

For mains i pushed out the boat and had a big platter of different fish which included Marlin and John Dory, all grilled. They were all so mouth watering, it also came with these huge prawns! I also got chips and salad with it which was really hard going, but you will be pleased to know i only left a few chips and a bit of marlin.

The other half had Marlin with roasted new potato’s we both found the Marlin amazing in flavour but really hard work, its a gorgeous meaty fish but there is a whole lot of it on your plate!

So sadly with all that yummy fishy delights in out tums, the dessert was a no no, Mr Marlin really filled us up!

The wine of course is mostly all Ozzy and i had a lovely large glass of their rose – it was a perfect glass not too sweet. The love of my life had a Mock tail (ha, he had to drive. it was my birthday!) which was fresh and lush. (with a hint of Havana Club i would of been back in Cayo Guillermo in Cuba where we went on Holiday.)

So if your looking for a lovely night out, and a bit of a change with your food, head on down to the Taste of Oz - you wont be disappointed!
